5 Things That Can Block Your Manifesting and Keep You Stuck

Let’s talk about five simple and lasting fundamental steps you can take that will completely change your life and allow you to heal. 

 

You might have read books like The Secret that teach you about the law of attraction and it’s true that you can manifest anything you want. But what a lot of law of attraction teachers don't tell you is that if you don't do these five things, then chances are you're not able to manifest as much as you would otherwise, because these things can block your manifesting.



This is validated by science and psychology, and it is important whether or not you are trying to manifest your dream life. Now I am a big believer in creating a vision of your dream life and then moving towards that dream. Life is always seeking fuller, more expansive, greater versions through you. You are here to learn and grow and expand. But even if you're not doing that, if you have anything you are trying to heal, if you have any relationships you are trying to repair, if you are trying to obtain more financial freedom or more success in your career, doing these five fundamental things are going to help you.

 

The five fundamental things are: 

 

  • Reframe your story
  • Release your repressed emotions
  • Forgive everyone (including yourself)
  • Map out your dream life (visualize your dream life)
  • Change your perspective

 

Let’s dive into each of these:

 

Reframe your story. A lot of us live in the past, and we focus on things that we've gone through and how they've hurt us, our traumas, how we've been let down, or use them as an excuse for why we have the life we have now. Reframing your story is about changing the way that you view the past. Because if you can change the way you view the past, then it's going to affect your present moment. And that is going to affect how you manifest your future. It's about getting out of the victim mentality - stop blaming everyone else and outside events and circumstances for your suffering, and learn to take responsibility for what's going on in your life.

 

The things that happened to you are not your fault and that's very important. But your healing is your responsibility because there's no one else coming to save you - you have to do it yourself. We're here in the Earth school to learn lessons, to have experiences, and to grow. Reframing your past is about learning to see the lesson in everything that happened and deciding how you're going to grow from it. This isn't spiritual bypassing: it's not saying that something didn't happen. It's not trying to put that positive spin on it - I’m not telling you to “think positive.” I am simply saying that if you can learn to see the lesson in everything, then you will grow from it. You will level up, reframe your story, and flip your perspective on how you view the past. Your challenges become your greatest gifts.

 

More often than not, we focus on the past and the future and so we miss the present moment. And the present moment is the only true time that exists. We are living in an eternal now. If your thoughts on the past are ones of anger, resentment, guilt, shame, rage, or blame -  if you have any of these, what we call “low-vibration emotions” - you are bringing those emotions into the present moment and you are going to manifest more things into your life that make you feel that way.

 

Only 5% of your life, you are consciously creating what you want and the other 95% of your life is coming from your subconscious programming, your core programming. Your core programming began way when you were a kid, and developed until the age of seven. It’s the way your parents and your guardians talked to you, the opinions of the adults you grew up around, the kids who made fun of you on the playground, the sports coach that said, “you're not good enough.” All of these things start to form your lens, your belief system, and your core programming. 

 

And no matter how hard you try to manifest (you might have the best intentions in the world, maybe you've read every law of attraction book out there), if you do not change your core programming and rewire your brain, all that core programming is going to seep into your manifesting, and you’ll be sabotaging yourself 95% of your day. No matter how much you manifest and write positive mantras and journal and create a vision board, unless you unlearn that conditioning that you learned, you’re going to stay stuck because you’ll be working against yourself and your core programming will keep you from getting what you desire. 

 

The second fundamental step that you need to do to unblock yourself is to release repressed emotions. Take a moment and do this little exercise with me. Place your hands on top of each other. Your left hand with palm face up is going to be all of your metaphorical repressed emotions and your right hand on top of it, palm face down is going to be you holding them down. With all your might, press your palms together. Now quickly move your right hand away. What happens? Your left hand flies up because there is still all that pressure - your metaphorical repressed emotions exploding into the world. Those can get unleashed onto people that you love as well as onto the people you project negativity onto.

 

Emotions are energy and they can be powerful. When you push them down, they don't have anywhere else to go except into your body where they become stuck and become repressed emotions. This energy doesn't just disappear, it stays there and blocks the energy flow in your body and causes your muscles to tense up. It can turn into pain, restrict your blood flow, and can turn into disease (dis-ease). It can bubble up to the surface at inappropriate times and inappropriate ways and it can do you a lot of harm. 

 

You have to release your repressed emotions or all that anger, frustration, heartbreak, sadness, shame, fear, anxiety, and guilt is going unconsciously to drive your life and it's going to seep into your manifesting. However old you are is probably pretty close to how many years you have of repressed emotions. It’s junk you have to get rid of because you don’t want it subconsciously affecting your life. You want to be in charge of your life!

 

The fundamental step number three is Forgiveness. You have to forgive yourself and you have to forgive other people. And so many people say “ugh that person doesn't deserve my forgiveness!” But forgiveness isn't for the other person, it's for you.

 

There's this great Buddhist quote I love that says, “Holding onto anger is like holding onto a hot coal with the intention of throwing it at someone else. You are the one who gets burned.” 

 

Now this isn't about excusing anyone's behaviors. This is merely reframing your perspective on the perceived wrongdoings of yourself and others in your life, so you can release that anger, frustration, hurt, guilt, and shame, so then you're not just living in these negative toxic emotions. All of this stuff is poison. And holding onto poison only hurts you. And again, it's going to seep into your manifesting and until you forgive others and release all this and let it go, it is going to control your life. If your lens is one of anger, then that is how you are going to interpret events around you. It's how you'll interact with others. You'll project that out onto the world, and that anger is going to eat away at you, causing you to harm eventually in the form of the disease. You have to let go of the poison.

The next step is to visualize your dreams. You need a goal and you have to have a roadmap, because a roadmap tells you where you are now and where you’re headed. If you don't know where you want to go, you're kind of just floundering and living the life you were handed by default. This work is about taking life into your own hands, making life happen for you, not to you… not just being this casual passenger in your own life, and taking the driver's seat in your own life. 

 

Energy flows where attention goes, and what you focus on is what you are going to attract into your life. This is the law of attraction and it is a fundamental law of our universe and how our minds work. What you put your attention on is what you notice. It’s like wanting a new car, for example. If you're focusing on the car you want, don't you see them everywhere? When you train your mind to notice the things that you want, your dream life that you're visualizing and mapping out, then you're going to attract that thing to you. But the problem is, most people focus on what they don't want so that's what they get handed to them. So having a roadmap becomes important because what you focus on becomes your reality.

 

The last one is to change your perspective. This is the most important ones because if you can change your mind about who you really are and the nature of reality, that it is going to send ripple effects through every other area of your life, and it's going to make changing your mind and making shifts about the rest so much easier. You are in a school - Earth is a school - and you are not a human, but you are a soul pretending to be a human for a short time. You are here to learn lessons, to have experiences, to learn how to use the law of attraction, and how to manifest things in your life. You're here to give your gifts to humanity. And then if you learn all the lessons you're meant to in your next lifetime when you reincarnate, you're going to graduate to another school and level up a grade. 

 

If you didn't learn those lessons, you're going to come back to earth as a human again. You will reincarnate with similar people and similar circumstances and go through similar situations until you learn the lessons that you are meant to. 

 

Once you change your perspective about what life is and how it works, it will change everything. You will be able to let things roll off a lot easier and get your priorities a lot more straight, and you won’t take certain things as seriously.
