1:20 Hi, I'm Kris.
1:22 When I was younger, I went through trauma that caused me to feel broken and lost.
1:26 But my life changed after I had a spiritual awakening.
1:30 Since then, I've dedicated my life to studying and learning from masters all around the world that have helped me to create a life of fulfillment and abundance beyond my wildest dreams.
1:39 Now I'm dedicated to sharing everything I've learned so that you don't have to suffer for decades like I did.
1:45 I've seen people's lives completely transformed, and I share it all right here.
1:52 Alright, let's get to it.
1:53 I'm signed up.
1:54 That sounds great.
1:57 Nice.
1:58 So I've got, I've got one person.
2:00 Awesome.
2:02 so yeah, I've got with me Karl Braveman.
2:04 So Carl is a distinguished meditation and mindfulness expert, mentor, coach, and healer.
2:11 He's studied practices such as Qikung.
2:14 You have to correct me if I'm saying anything wrong, Carl.
2:16 , Asui and Tibetan Reiki, am I pronouncing that correctly?
2:22 OK, you're gonna have to tell me what that is.
2:24 Second healing, am I pronouncing that correctly?
2:26 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
2:27 I probably should have done this before.
2:28 OK, you're going to tell me what that is.
2:30 Hypnotherapy and EFT with clients from all over the world, Carl has become a respected.
2:35 Figure in the mindfulness and self-realization space.
2:38 His dedication is grounded in real world challenges, having overcome significant personal, physical, and emotional struggles.
2:45 So welcome, Carl.
2:46 I'm so happy you're here today.
2:48 Hi, well, thank you.
2:49 That's quite an introduction.
2:51 yeah, so, Well, you know, I mean, with all the with all of these things, the words don't matter, it's the experience that matters.
2:59 So pronouncing something one way or another is really not that important, is it?
3:04 But it's qigong, chi, like Tai Chi, it's the other side of Tai Chi.
3:09 So Tai Chi is moving and flowing with energy and Qigong is more about cultivating, so.
3:17 You cultivate before you flow, so they're they're two sides of the same coin, but that's, particularly, my training.
3:25 It's kind of less aesthetically interesting than Tai Chi, it's more internal than a kind of flow and a dance, but it's very, very powerful, very grounding, but also very activating.
3:40 , I'm all about us becoming aware on a day to day basis of our multi-dimensional selves.
3:47 So yes, we are human beings, we're here to do our human, but we're also here to be spiritual beings, to be multi-dimensional, and in this new age that we're now entering into, increasingly we are moving into the experience on a day to day basis of being multidimensional, so.
4:08 That's that's what that's all about, energy healing for me, laying on of hands, Sachem is ancient Egyptian reiki, it's kind of.
4:23 My understanding is that it's the original reiki, so Usui, which is the Japanese reiki that most people are familiar with, and then also Tibetan reiki, the the original energy and the original teachings came from, Egypt.
4:40 Ancient Egypt, but in, but where did they get it from?
4:44 So they may have well got it from Atlantis and, you know, other ancient civilizations, or maybe it came from extraterrestrial beings and stuff, right?
4:54 So, but yeah, so it's a, it's a very, it's a very strong, very strong, in a good way, powerful, healing modality.
5:04 So, yeah, so, and, I'm bringing in.
5:09 Sacred geometry, I work with guides and I'm very, I just, I love, I like playing, you know, it's just like, you know, just, just, you know, having the confidence just when you, once you've got a a a baseline of a foundation of, of a skill set, you can just go, oh, I can just blend that into my own unique.
5:30 , offering and you don't necessarily, causes like Reiki, I don't know whether you're familiar with Reiki, but it's, it's very Japanese, it's very like rigid and structured and, you know, disciplined and, you know, that's, that's great, but it's also, you know, great in our spirituality to be able to, Expand and, and play and, and be like, you know, more childlike and just like create and be creative and get new inspiration and new ideas that are maybe not what's in the manual, but it's your own particular blend, your own particular way of doing things and, and that's how I like to teach with my, with my coaching is instead of me, I mean I've got my own personal journey, right, you know, we've all got our own personal understandings of how things are, but.
6:13 For me, the way that I do coaching is very much about asking questions more than it is giving people answers, because people have to go on their own journey and as a, as a, as a coach, as a guide, as a mentor, my role is to, to help encourage and facilitate that person on their journey, because we're all so unique, right?
6:34 You know, what, what works for one person, what is the, the truth for one person isn't the truth, for the other.
6:42 So we're all very much unique, unique beings, aren't we?
6:45 So, you know, we're, we're all on our own special unique journey.
6:50 I think that's really exciting because we don't want to be like everybody else, do we?
6:53 We wanna be our own individual selves, so that's, I think, really beautiful.
6:58 Totally, yeah, thanks, thanks so much for explaining all that.
7:01 I had no idea Reiki's roots or that kind of energy healing were in ancient Egypt and.
7:06 I, I, I said this when we're in the green room.
7:09 I was like, I took a look at your website, which is where I got your awesome bio.
7:13 And I was like, OK, I know we're going to be on the same page with like a million things and you know, I'm I'm so fascinated with ancient Egypt and Atlantis, like I have the tattoos, right?
7:24 and all their mystery schools and you then you start talking about sacred geometry.
7:28 I'm like, My, my, the book that led to my spiritual awakening was the Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life by Juvie Melchizedek, he like talks about sacred geometry.
7:37 I read it back in 2001, I think.
7:39 So I'm, I'm so excited to talk about all of this with you.
7:43 but I'm gonna backpedal for a second because I start all my episodes the same way, and you're not getting away without answering the same this one question.
7:51 So.
7:52 So, And I think you're gonna have a really great answer.
7:57 I asked my guests what their origin story is because I want to know what put you on this path to becoming this incredible meditation and mindfulness and and coach and expert.
8:10 So I have a feeling you have a really inspirational story.
8:14 so please, if you wouldn't mind sharing, you know, what put you on this journey in the first place.
8:18 Oh, how long have you got?
8:24 Let's start with birth.
8:27 you know, I had a traumatic birth.
8:30 I have the forcep scars to, to, to, to, to prove it, you know.
8:35 I was like, that, that moment of birth was a trauma for me.
8:38 , and that began, a chapter which has been, I'm smiling about it now because it's actually been a source of great joy and, and, and tremendous amount of gratitude, but it's definitely been a story of, of, of a lot of trauma, a lot of central nervous system dysfunction, I had a very, very serious car accident.
9:01 I was incredibly lucky to get out of, alive.
9:05 I could have easily died.
9:06 It was incredibly very, very serious and very, very lucky that I survived.
9:12 and that created, a, a very significant spinal injury, and I was told that I would be in a wheelchair and I would need carers every day and, you know, they wanted to put metal rods in my back and all of this stuff.
9:27 And, Yeah, so pain is a great teacher, it doesn't always feel that way.
9:34 I'm not suggesting for one moment that it's always fun.
9:38 But you know, pain and suffering are are great teachers, if we allow them to be.
9:45 And so I'm, I, I, I, I, I came up with this saying the other day that I, I meditated, not medicated.
9:55 So, I didn't take the pain meds and I didn't take the antidepressants, and I didn't take the sleeping pills, and I didn't take the anti, you know, all the anti stuff that the Western medicine is all about.
10:05 symptom management, right?
10:07 He's got symptoms, quick, give him some more pills.
10:10 And I was like, no, I feel like there's gonna be a different way for me.
10:13 I always felt that I wasn't, I wasn't raised at all spiritual.
10:18 I was definitely completely.
10:22 Asleep, if you like, you know, I had no, I always.
10:27 I was always a bit of a deep thinker.
10:29 , but I didn't really come into meditation, mindfulness practice until this screaming pain came along.
10:38 and, you know, I was living with a, like a red hot poker of pain in my, in my lumbar spine for quite a long year, quite a number of years.
10:47 And, somehow I developed this understanding that the more we resist, the more it persists.
10:57 And so I.
10:59 Step by step, Both with psychological pain, cos I've been through the mill a lot, with various different things.
11:08 People can read my full bio on my, on my website if they're interested about my, my, my journey, but I, I began to realize that.
11:18 If you can, if, and it's a journey, I'm not suggesting that it's easy, but if you can bring love and acceptance and and compassion to whatever you're experiencing, it helps over time, sometimes instantly to transform and transmute stuff.
11:37 And so what, you know, what you're holding rigidly and tightly, I can't accept this, I can't accept this, this is too hard, it's too unfair, it's too unjust, it's too painful.
11:46 You're just going to create more of that.
11:49 That is just how it works, what you resist persists.
11:52 And so through breath work, through meditation, through mindfulness, by bringing my hand to my heart and just saying, I love, I love myself, even though I'm in pain, even though I'm struggling, even though I've been abandoned by my whole family, I'm now, I haven't had any contact from my family for over 10 years.
12:09 I've, I've been completely abandoned by my family.
12:12 There's a lot of grief there to be dealt with.
12:14 There's a lot of pain there to be dealt with.
12:16 And I've worked through that, you know, using different modalities.
12:22 EFT is amazing.
12:23 I use EFT a lot that I'm sure has helped me tremendously.
12:27 Affirmation work, mirror work, you know, looking at yourself in the mirror, in the eyes and saying I love you.
12:34 It's so powerful, so profound.
12:37 You know, most of these, most of the things that I teach, it's probably the same for you, Kris.
12:42 When it comes down to it, it's really simple stuff, right?
12:45 It's not, it's not rocket science, you know.
12:48 Sitting and breathing, what could be more easy than that, you know, it's like, you know, I'm a meditation teacher, people ask me what I do for a living, I say I teach people to sit and breathe.
12:58 You know, it's like, how, how difficult is that, but as you know, you know, actually it's, it can be the hardest thing to sit with yourself with the emotional pain that we're experiencing with trauma, with physical pain.
13:11 And yeah, I.
13:13 I'm sorry, I'm, I'm going off on one talking about my, my story, but yeah, basically, a lot of pain and suffering over a long period of time.
13:23 I'll just finish by just saying there was a point on that journey where it became so ridiculous how much suffering I was experiencing.
13:32 So, so ridiculous how much psychological and emotional pain I was experiencing.
13:37 That it kind of made me think this has to be about something, right, this has to be for something.
13:44 It's just a ridiculous amount otherwise, you know, there has to be some greater purpose.
13:49 And I suppose over a period of time, I started to realize, aha, you know, instead of reading about spiritual principles from books, I, I walked the walk, and I felt.
14:02 The feelings, and I, I, I, I, I did my being n, and I, I still do now, and I'm still a beginner, you know, beginner's mind, every single day is a is a new beginning and you know, sometimes I'm feeling like, whoa, I'm super, super charged and highly activated and on on a, on a different planet, and then I'm back in the human again, back in the, oh, OK, I've gotta do the gotta do the feelings again, I've gotta, you know, so it's, you know, we're all, we're all beginners, right, even if you're like an advanced practitioner.
14:31 , having that beginner's mind and recognizing that, you know, we're all students, walking on this path, that it's a, a journey, not a destination.
14:42 So, yeah.
14:43 Totally.
14:44 I mean, I think, I think if we were really masters and there wasn't anything else to learn, we wouldn't be here anymore.
14:50 Like we would have, we would have ascended, right?
14:53 And I love that.
14:54 I love that mindset.
14:55 thank you so much for sharing your story.
14:58 Yeah, I have to ask like, did you end up totally healing your back?
15:01 Like how are you today?
15:03 Is everything, how are you doing physically?
15:05 Because like being told you're going to be in a wheelchair, that's pretty serious.
15:10 Yeah, absolutely, yeah, no, it has been incredibly serious.
15:12 I am still disabled.
15:14 I don't like to use that word because it seems the connotation around it is such a limiting, limitation.
15:21 I am enabled, not disabled.
15:24 but you know, I still have physical health challenges quite severely.
15:29 I am still, well, we're all limited.
15:32 You know, we're all limited.
15:33 It doesn't matter who you are, how healthy and strong and well you are, you still need to sleep, you still need to rest.
15:39 You still can't run up, you know, I mean, I don't know anybody who can run a marathon every day, you know, you know, you need to rest.
15:45 So we all have, we all have limitations.
15:47 But yeah, I have, I still have pain.
15:51 I just had a huge flare-up actually quite recently with my spine.
15:54 It was like it went right back, to the beginning.
15:57 I was like, oh, hello.
15:59 Hello, old friend, I haven't experienced you before and I had this quite profound experience actually, of just.
16:07 You know, like, like a slipped disc, I don't know if you've ever had that, but, you know, yeah, very, very, very, very painful.
16:16 It was like going right back to the beginning, like post-car accident.
16:21 And, you know, luckily, I'm, I would say, it sounds a bit egotistical, but I think it's true that I would, I, I would class myself as being an, an advanced meditator.
16:32 and, you know, when these things come, come up for us in our lives, any kind of trigger, any kind of pain, it's an invitation.
16:41 And sometimes it's like, oh, really?
16:44 You know, I've, haven't I done this already, you know, but there's, there's, there's always more layers and there's always more, you know, there's always more to learn and there's always, More to gain, there's there's always more gifts to come from it, and you know, what happened to me in this most recent flare up with my back is an excruciating pain again, and I was just like, really, I couldn't, I could hardly walk.
17:11 It was so painful.
17:12 And I sat and I meditated, and yet again.
17:15 I went really into it.
17:18 I didn't offer any resistance to it at all, and I just, I'm going to feel this pain and I'm gonna love it.
17:24 I'm gonna just love it.
17:25 I'm not gonna ask it to change.
17:27 I'm not gonna to demand anything of it at all.
17:30 I'm just going to honor its presence and be with it.
17:34 And instead of a slipped disc taking usually, I don't know, 1 month, 2 months to heal.
17:41 I swear to God, Kris, 23 days after that, I was completely better again.
17:46 , and that just, for me that was the gift in it, right?
17:50 The gift in it was the, the, the, the, the experience of that fast pace of transmutation and transformation that was possible and just reminding me of the profound potential.
18:07 In these quite, as I say, quite potentially theoretically quite simple, it sounds quite simple, right?
18:13 Obviously putting these things into practice is a is a is a lot more tricky, but.
18:18 The profound potential for healing and transformation that can occur when we allow what is occurring to occur, when we sit and be the witness of what is occurring rather than being in it, you know, the pain.
18:33 There, the thoughts are there, the heartache is there, but we are not that, right?
18:39 We are not that.
18:40 We're not the body.
18:41 We're not the thoughts.
18:43 We're not the identification with things and people and relationships and income, and all of that is a temporary expression of who we are, but it's not who we are, really.
18:54 We are the divine, we are the, the essence.
18:57 We are the, the watchers, right?
18:58 We are having, we are the one that's having the experience.
19:02 So, it, for me it was a very beautiful, remembering again of like, oh yeah, here I am, being the watcher, taking that step back, being that eagle on the perch, looking down on myself and, and sending love and sending compassion and watching how it changes because, you know, that's the beautiful thing.
19:25 You know, it sounds like such a cliche that, you know, this too shall pass, right?
19:29 You know, everyone says that like this too shall pass, and it's like, oh really?
19:33 But it actually is true, you know, absolutely everything has a beginning, a middle and an end.
19:38 Everything, everything is cycles, cycles and cycles.
19:41 The breath is coming and going.
19:43 We are being reborn in each breath.
19:47 So, you know, when we can come back to that simplicity of us being the witness and the watcher of our experience, rather than being so wrapped up in it that we are identified and rigid and, and, and therefore resisting it because we're like, I don't want this, I don't want that.
20:03 And who is this I, right?
20:05 Who is this I that's saying I don't want this?
20:08 It's the, it's the egoic self, whereas the the witness within us, the the the spiritual being within us is just.
20:18 In a state of, of beingness.
20:20 Now that's as simple as that's, that's as simple as it is really, it's it's about stepping into that beingness.
20:27 Huh I think, I think that's such a beautiful, I think everything you said is really beautiful.
20:35 And here's why, because, you know, we've all heard that like little catchphrase, what you resist persists, right?
20:42 But it's hard, it's hard to explain.
20:47 How do you not resist something if you're in excruciating pain, or if you're in a really awful situation, right?
20:55 Like, there's that line because because people like coming back and like, you know, kind of fighting against that might be like, well, what's the difference between like that and, you know, not, not fighting to get out of something or not, you know, taking action steps to get out of something.
21:11 Do you get what I'm trying to say?
21:12 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
21:14 And, and it's kind of that fine line that you have to like walk to navigate that to be like, OK.
21:20 Yeah, it's, and I think like going into meditation and sending it love and and acceptance, and that's a really hard thing to do.
21:29 Yeah, no, it absolutely is.
21:31 I I I I I I know that.
21:32 I mean, I know that on a personal level and I certainly don't ever make light of how challenging.
21:40 Life can be, I mean life can really put people through through it.
21:45 I wanted to speak a little bit to that point that you were talking about because, There's a tendency for people to think that when we're talking about love and compassion that they sound quite passive, right?
22:00 Yeah.
22:00 You know, that it's, it's like, OK, so I'm gonna be just trampled over and walked over and, you know, and, and just, just sit and, and, and be zen, right?
22:11 But actually, I think.
22:13 The opposite is true.
22:16 When, when you really come into that, into that center.
22:20 You are powerful.
22:22 Right, you are your, you are in that spiritual warrior place, you know, you are in your sovereignty, right?
22:32 so it's not passive at all.
22:33 It just means that when you really come into, to, to balance, when you really come into your center, when you really come into the heart, it means that the action that you do take will be true action.
22:45 And when your heart and your soul, when the body, mind and spirit are working as one.
22:51 You're you're invincible, baby, you know, you can do, you can do anything.
22:55 You can climb mountains, you can overcome challenges, heartache.
23:00 We can change the world, right?
23:01 You know, I mean, my film Visioning the new Earth is this call to action, you know, it's, it's an inspiring little piece that I put together.
23:10 That encourages us to realize that it does start with us, if we want to change the world out there, the world out there is only a reflection of our inner landscape, right?
23:20 , we are, you know, we, we are, it's a feedback loop.
23:24 The, the, the world out there is, is a, is a manifestation of our internal world.
23:31 So if you want to heal the world out there, you've got to start inside.
23:35 And that, that going in, that journey of going inward, that's not passive.
23:41 That's not weak, it's the very opposite of that, it requires courage and it requires strength and it requires determination.
23:48 And love, love, love.
23:50 And love is not passive and weak.
23:52 Love is, love is a, is a strength and a power within us that will literally move mountains.
23:59 So, yeah, it's, I think it's really important to remember that, that it's, it's not this kind of, passive, you know, let's just sit and, and be calm.
24:10 It's, I mean, it can be that, but it can also be like, yeah, let's get really.
24:15 Into our, into our warrior energy into our, the power of no, right, as well as the power of yes, it's like, no, I'm not, I'm not accepting that, I'm not tolerating that, but coming from that place of love.
24:27 So it's not a an energy of aggressiveness, but it's, it's that, it's that, it's that, it's that strong will, you know, that like the mother's love kind of thing, you know, that that kind of really like what you wouldn't do for your children kind of thing.
24:41 , I mean, he says, having been abandoned by his mother, but anyway, that's another, that's another story.
24:49 That's something else we have in common.
24:50 I was just owned by like half my family too.
24:52 So when he said that, I was like, oh yeah, we're like soul siblings or something.
24:55 OK, yeah.
24:57 but, OK, so yes, I I love that you said all that and You know, my, so my brother-in-law and I have this conversation a lot.
25:06 He, he's a total monk, like he literally spends like 4 months out of the year in the Himalayas.
25:12 They have to take like a 20 hour jeep ride like up into and he stays at this monastery, and he meditates 5 hours a day, literally.
25:19 And that's his existence, and my husband and I are very much into like manifesting and like, so it's all this like being versus doing, right?
25:27 Like you don't want to live so much in the future that you're missing the present moment, but you also want to like create your reality, right?
25:33 So it's it's a balance, but I, but I wanna, I wanna touch on something you said because it's kind of what I wanted to.
25:41 Talk a little bit about today.
25:42 You were talking about how our outer world is a manifestation of our inner world.
25:47 And this isn't probably going to air for like 6 weeks or so, but right now is November 5th and you are in the UK, but I am in the United States and it is election day.
25:56 And, you know, the, oh my God, it's it's palpable, the tension, right?
26:04 Yeah, yeah, absolutely people and we're living, you know, It it's so easy to like look outside right now and just see, especially in the US I don't know how it is in the UK, but there's a lot of division.
26:15 And there's a lot of tension and Mother Nature is fucking pissed, right?
26:19 There's like hurricanes and like, there's like, it just, it's, it's in fires and it's, it's wild.
26:26 And there's this idea of, you know, our inner world creates our outer world, and I totally believe that as well.
26:31 I write about it in my book.
26:33 But I want to get your perspective on this, And we're also moving into this new earth, right?
26:38 We're moving into this place like the collective consciousness is rising.
26:43 And there's this idea that we have to like go through it to get out, but, but like, if everyone is manifesting this shit collectively, like, where, where do we go from here?
26:51 Like, how do we, how do we look at all of this with a spiritual perspective and like, how do we, how do we help move things in a more beautiful place?
27:02 OK.
27:04 OK, good, no, that's great.
27:04 Yeah, yeah.
27:10 OK, so there's a few things.
27:12 I mean, hopefully by the time this airs, you will actually know who's gonna be president because I don't think it's going to, I think it's gonna be, I think it's gonna take quite a while for the dust to settle on this.
27:22 I think you guys are in for a little bit of a tricky time over the next couple of months probably.
27:29 Probably till January whenever, yeah, so you know, but you know.
27:37 This is the time when we need to lean into our practices more than ever.
27:45 if I can just plug tiny little bit, I've got, I've got a course coming out, in the new year called Start Your Day the Right Way, which is just really simply encouraging people to get off, their day on the right foot.
27:57 I don't know about you, but I, I've definitely got into a bit of a naughty habit of starting the day by looking at screens, and I'm like, what am I, what am I doing, you know?
28:06 Really, you know, do I need to check my Facebook now, really, is that the best way for me to start my day?
28:11 You know, it'll all be there a little bit later in the day.
28:13 Do I need to check the news?
28:14 Is that really the best thing for me to do to start the day?
28:17 It'll all be there, you know, the news will still be there, you know, a bit later on anyway, so just coming back from, right?
28:24 And then all of a sudden it's Earth again, right?
28:27 Yeah, exactly, yeah, but you know, It can be very overwhelming to think about, you know, all of the stuff that's going wrong in the world.
28:36 I mean, we're in this sort of everything crisis at the moment.
28:39 Everything is coming to a to a head.
28:41 The last, you know, since the industrial revolution, you know, it's just gone, you know, population has exploded.
28:48 The amount of destruction that mankind has has inflicted on both other human beings and on the planet is extraordinary.
28:56 I mean, it's just like, it's almost like.
28:59 Really?
29:00 How did we manage to, to, you know, well you swore already, so how I can say, how do we manage to fuck it up so much, it's just unbelievable, however, however.
29:11 We are very we are very powerful.
29:14 We are broadcasting a frequency at all times.
29:17 So what you put energy onto grows and amplifies, right, that's the law of attraction.
29:25 So, you know.
29:27 Don't worry about what you can't do anything about, I don't know, Russia or North Korea or, you know, you know, China invading Taiwan or whatever else might be happening, and Israel, Palestine, you know, there's there's so much going on in the world that you can just be completely overwhelmed in, you know, domestic affairs in the in the US with you guys there here in the UK, you know, the world is not a happy place right now.
29:53 We can't change everything, but we can change us.
29:57 That's how it starts, that's how it starts.
30:00 So inhabiting more often throughout the day, coming back to the, coming back to the breath, coming back to the heart, coming back to love and peace and compassion, practicing loving kindness, don't broadcast out an energy of anger and hatred and division.
30:18 The world's got enough of that already.
30:21 Find a higher note.
30:22 Imagine that you are an orchestra, that every single day from every single moment that that you, that you, you know, walk through the day, you are an orchestra playing a symphony.
30:34 What symphony do you want to be playing, what note?
30:37 Do you want to be resonating?
30:39 keep coming back to that.
30:41 And it's not to be in some kind of spiritual bypassing where we're just like la la la la la la la, it's all rainbows and unicorns and I'm not gonna listen to the news and everything's wonderful.
30:50 Of course not, you know, there's a hell of a lot of stuff that's going wrong, but we can feed that by our negativity and our fear, right?
30:59 Or we can practice some other thing, and that means coming from the inside out.
31:06 Loving, being compassionate, just smiling at somebody down the street can change their whole day.
31:12 You know, I have had people who I have known who were literally on the verge of, they've made a decision in their mind that they were going to go home and they were going to commit suicide.
31:21 That was their, that was the thing that they were gonna do.
31:24 And then they just happen as they're walking down the street, somebody just looked at them in the eyes and and smiled at them, and it just changes their frequency and it changes their whole day and saved their life.
31:36 Someone, someone who was going to jump off the bridge, or he might have, I forget if he did or not, that was in his suicide note.
31:42 He's like, I'm gonna walk like 2 hours to the bridge and if 1 person.
31:46 Looks me in the eye and smiles.
31:47 I'm not gonna do it.
31:49 I don't, yeah, but no, totally, sorry to cut you off, but yeah, so you know, again, it's like, you know.
31:56 These simple things can seem so like, oh come on, how is the world gonna change if I just smile at a few people?
32:02 But you know what, if everybody started smiling at at people, you know, wouldn't that change the whole world?
32:08 You know, we, we, we think of ourselves as being, I mean, not necessarily you and I and maybe not even your audience, but generally people think of themselves as being individuals.
32:18 This is me, this is my, this is, this is me.
32:21 But we're all connected, we're all in a global symphony together.
32:26 We're all in a global energy together, and so, you know, the power of prayer is, is profound and powerful.
32:35 The power of love, the power of compassion, the power of forgiveness, sending the people in the world who most need help and healing, you know, I mean pick your, pick your you know.
32:51 You know, I don't know, world leader or something that you're just like, oh my God, really, why are these people in, in charge?
32:58 instead of broadcasting to them, you know, judgment.
33:03 Anger, resentment, you know, hatred.
33:08 Don't you think that they might be feeding off that, right?
33:12 You know, these narcissists, these psychopaths, these sociopaths that are running the planet, don't you think they might actually be energized by that kind of energy that's being broadcast towards them?
33:24 How about, I know this is a big one, but how about practicing some love and compassion towards those kind of people?
33:31 They can't handle that, they're just like, what do you mean?
33:34 What do you mean?
33:35 I don't want love, no, you know, so actually, you know, that's how we change, that's how we're gonna change the world, is by sending out, and love is, is, it's, it, it can't, you know, there's no defense against love.
33:46 It's just, oh, I, I will not accept your love, you know, they can't, you know, they they they they they're absolutely they build all these walls and they've got all these tanks and there's all these machine guns and all of this rubbish.
33:56 Love will penetrate all of that, right, so, you know, I think it comes back to.
34:02 As as we can in our everyday, checking in with ourselves, right, where, where am I right now, where am I right now?
34:10 Coming back to here, you know, we, we think of ourselves as, as this, this brain thing, you know, that that's, that's where we, that's where we are.
34:18 But, you know, the body is kind of, oh, the body is here as well, but this is, this is who I am, it's up here.
34:23 What about if the center of gravity could be shifted to the heart and just keep coming back to the heart as often as you can for yourself.
34:32 You know, healer, heal thyself, you know, coming into the, into the heart for your, for your own experience of what is arising in, in us, but also, you know, share a bit of that love, you know, it's it's it's a beautiful practice just to send out a frequency of love to the planet, to, you know, world leaders, to people suffering, to our neighbors, to animals, to, you know, whatever, just.
34:58 You know, be, be, be, be of generous heart, you know, that I think that is going to, it, it, it changes our lives individually because it's a feedback loop, right?
35:09 So the more you give out a frequency of love and light, the more that that comes back.
35:14 So, you know, it's like, as you, as you give, so you receive.
35:18 But you know, if that kind of energy was replicated by millions and millions and millions of people.
35:28 Then, wow, that's, that's really, that's really powerful.
35:32 So profound simplicity, you know, it's, it's coming back every single day, every single breath is a new beginning.
35:41 Where am I centered?
35:43 Put your hand on your heart, take a couple of breaths.
35:46 Can I?
35:46 And of course sometimes the answer is no, and that's OK, you know, can I offer some love and compassion in this situation?
35:52 So it's not forcing it, it's not like some, you know, BS spirituality that we're talking about here, you know, you need to really feel it, it has to be, it has to be true, it has to be genuine.
36:03 But, you know, can I?
36:04 Just give yourself the opportunity that maybe in this moment I can bring some love and compassion.
36:10 To that situation or to that individual, and, and see, and if it's possible, then great, go for it, and if it's not, then give love and compassion to the part of yourself that can't.
36:23 But that's, that's what it's all about.
36:24 I I love that like gentleness, right, of not forcing it like, can I, and I love your metaphor of this orchestra, and you can send out a different note because music's a vibration too or frequency too and it's such a great way of taking something that feels intangible, like, oh, raise your vibration, raise your frequency and making it like something that we know and can understand that's such so beautiful.
36:49 And to your point about sending world leaders love, I love that so much because it is so easy to send love to people who are nice to us or who, you know, do good, quote unquote.
37:02 I don't think anyone's good or evil, right?
37:05 But do good quote unquote good deeds in the world, but it's a lot harder to send love to people who honestly probably need it more, right?
37:14 Because it.
37:15 If you're out there creating harm, and if everyone makes mistakes, there's accidents, of course, but if you're like, purposefully creating harm, like, you are coming from a place of your own pain, right?
37:27 Or your own fear.
37:29 And, and I think you nailed it, like, sending out love and it's like you said, it's so simple.
37:37 I mean it's it's so simple and it's so, it's so hard, but you know, I mean that's why I mean I think.
37:41 , you know, a big foundation of my life, and it's, it's saved me, literally, you know, I've been on the edge of suicide plenty of times through this 20 year, you know, journey, and, you know, a foundation stone in my, survival and, and, and my thriving, and my, you know, my, my evolution has been gratitude, gratitude, gratitude, gratitude.
38:06 And it's like, OK, but.
38:08 It's easy to be grateful for the sunny day.
38:12 Can I be grateful for the cloudy day?
38:14 Can I be grateful for the rainy days?
38:16 Because you have to have rainy days in order to enjoy the sunny days, right?
38:20 You, you know, if it was sunny all the time, you would totally forget to be appreciative of it, right?
38:26 So, you know, you don't get the rainbows without the gray clouds and the storm, the storm systems coming in, right?
38:33 So, you know, it's, it's.
38:36 Bringing that, I, I feel like it's a muscle that you exercise, this gratitude muscle, it gets stronger as you tone it, as you work it out more frequently.
38:45 Can I bring gratitude to the more difficult things that are happening in my life?
38:50 And what I've noticed, and what I notice when I teach this with my clients.
38:56 Is that that allows.
38:59 Alchemy to happen really quickly, and people start to go, oh wow, I'm genuinely grateful, like I was saying about this pain, you know, there's there's there's been times in my life and I am, I am genuinely, I mean I have been through so much.
39:13 , I'm not saying, I, I haven't got, I'm not special, there's lots of people who, you know, there's not, there's not a competition, right, but you know, I've been through so much and I am genuinely really, really grateful for, for all of that, and that is such a gift to be grateful for the hardest things that have happened to us in our lives.
39:29 And that isn't something that just happens overnight.
39:32 Oh yeah, I'm just gonna be grateful for the, you know, the, the, the, the, you know, idiot boyfriend that dumped me, or I don't know, you know, that, that, that, that car that cut me up or what have you.
39:42 I don't know, it's, it's, it's, it's a, it's a step by step, moment by moment.
39:45 Process and it has to start with being gentle and kind to ourselves.
39:50 So don't give yourself a hard time if you're not able to practice gratitude or send love and light to somebody or some situation.
39:58 Start where you are, you know, it's, it's not like I, you know, I think we've had enough, haven't we, of this sort of religiosity which has been like a, a rod for our own back and, you know, just like.
40:12 Suffer and guilt and, oh, I'm not good enough.
40:14 Oh my God, I'm not good enough.
40:16 You know, maybe we can just all be just start by being kind to ourselves and being friendly with yourself.
40:23 One of the courses that I'm gonna start in the new year is called Best Friending Yourself.
40:28 Instead of being your worst enemy, can you turn that around and become your own best friend?
40:34 And that's like a profound journey for some people because people are not necessarily even aware that they've got this, this inner critic, this, this, this, this thought, this identification in their heads that's giving them such a hard time all the time.
40:49 You're not good enough, you're not good enough, you're not good enough, you're not worthy, you're not good enough.
40:52 You're too fat, you're too this, you're too that, you're not enough this, da da da da da, you're rubbish.
40:56 And all of this is going on in the background, just endlessly repeating, repeating, repeating.
41:04 And it's like, what if we could switch that up, you know, what if we could change that around and be our own best friend.
41:12 And, you know, that kind of, that kind of switch is what we need globally, is people to recognize that, oh, actually, We can just change channel, you know, change note, change the music, change the station, you know, change the frequency, and then just see how it ripples out, and how it, it will unfold very, very naturally and and effortlessly, and you know, gratitude is such a beautiful and profound and powerful practice, really encourage people to get into that, not necessarily, not just the things that are easy to be grateful for, like you said, you know.
41:49 Start bringing that gratitude practice to some of the more challenging aspects in your life and see what happens.
41:58 Yeah, absolutely, and it goes hand in hand with the what you resist persists, right?
42:04 If you can be grateful, it helps you with acceptance and For me, what helped, you know, I, I use gratitude to manifest also, right?
42:14 I'm grateful for things I don't even have yet, right, because they're out there.
42:18 but if you, once you're like on that frequency of gratitude, more things to be grateful for come to you.
42:24 And I think personally, what helped me be grateful during those cloudy days is getting through some of them and seeing how much growth came out of that adversity, right?
42:35 Because then like, once you are like, OK, there was like a lesson to be.
42:38 Learned or I leveled up somehow or something, something good came out of this, right?
42:42 I grew in some kind of way, then you start to welcome the adversity a little bit more.
42:48 It still isn't fun, but you're like, OK, I know on the other side of this, something really good is going to come out kind of how like you said, you're like, this is all has to be for a reason.
42:58 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
43:00 And you, and what I experienced in my life is because you've got that mindset, that gratitude mindset and that gift mindset.
43:08 You start looking out for, oh, what's the gift in this, right, you know, what's the, you know, what, you know, you, you start putting that energy out there much more quickly.
43:16 It doesn't mean you don't suffer, it doesn't mean you don't feel, it doesn't mean you, you know, you, you actually encourages you to feel more, right, to go deeper into these feelings, because you're not so resistant and you're not so.
43:28 Scared of them, because you, you know that in the heart of that heartache, that pain, that, that sensation, that trigger, there is a gift, there's an opportunity that, you know, spirit, consciousness, the divine, whatever language you want to use for it is constantly communicating with us and helping us.
43:49 And you know, it's, it's really hard to hear that the hardest, most challenging things that have happened in our lives can be for our highest good.
43:57 That is not an easy sell, right, you know, you're not gonna sell many books with a title going, hey, you know, this is great, enjoy your suffering, you know, but you know, actually, you know.
44:09 If you allow that possibility, that plants a seed.
44:14 You know, it's like, you know, you're planting seeds every single day we're planting seeds in our garden.
44:19 And sure enough, those seeds will grow.
44:22 What seeds are we planting, you know, so just every day just sprinkle a few gratitude seeds into your garden, sprinkle a little bit more joy into, into your experience, sprinkle a little bit more heart centeredness, a bit more compassion, and that garden will surely, surely grow.
44:38 It's as simple as, it's as simple as that, really.
44:41 And I like that you're saying just sprinkle a little because you don't have to go like it might be so overwhelming for someone to go from like nothing to like oh I'm so grateful for everything, right?
44:51 It doesn't feel sincere and it's like if you can start, but I wanted you, you brought something up that made me.
44:58 It prompted a question in my mind.
45:01 you know, you talk about feeling your emotions through it, and I, I am totally there with you, like the way through is to like feel it, right?
45:10 Like you have to let go of those things.
45:13 So when you're coaching someone.
45:15 How do you walk that line or how do you help them walk that line between falling into victim mentality where it becomes their identity and feeling their emotions?
45:24 Because that's a tricky one for people too, right?
45:26 That's that other one that people get very, like knee jerk defensive about.
45:31 Yeah.
45:32 I mean, it's a, you know, well, everyone's different, you know, you have to be gentle with people, you have to be, you know, you don't want to go too deep, too, too quick.
45:43 I always come back to the breath with people, you know, just be aware that you are breathing.
45:52 So you, you know, they say that our conscious selves are able to concentrate or focus on 7 things at once.
45:59 I'm not sure if it's as many as 7 actually, but you know, so there might be the pain, there might be a memory that's coming up.
46:06 But there's also the breath, there's also maybe the sensation in your feet, or the, or the sensation of, of your, of your fingers.
46:14 So instead of going so into it that it consumes you and takes you over, you keep that.
46:22 Sense of expandedness, expandedness, that's not a word, is it?
46:27 expansion, you you keep that.
46:30 Yeah, well I'll just make it up.
46:31 Carl Braveman making up words, why not?
46:34 yeah, you keep that sense of, of expansion.
46:37 So yes, you're aware of this heaviness, this feeling, this, this, this memory.
46:42 Maybe there's abuse, maybe there's trauma, maybe there's neglect, something really, we've all got our wounds, right, we've all got our cross to bear.
46:50 But you, you work with those, those heavy energies from a place of expansion.
46:56 You don't go so into them that you're lost in them.
46:59 I don't want people leaving a session with me feeling like they've been in a in in a in the ring, you know, like and they're just like, oh my God, you know, I want people to come away from that session feeling elevated.
47:11 , where, you know, maybe you, you've peeled back, you know, we're, it's like we're, you know, we're all so multi-layered, there's no peeling back layers, so you, you peel back a little layer and then you, then you rest and you come back.
47:23 You don't want to go too far too soon.
47:25 , And I love EFT.
47:29 I use EFT a lot with, with my clients.
47:32 I find it incredibly useful for for recognizing an emotion, a thought, an idea that's got stuck in our systems, and we just tap it through.
47:42 And then we come back, and we just put it to one side for a little bit, and it just like, you don't wanna like get right in there, you know, it's like, oh, you know, just like be gentle, you know, gentleness, gentleness, be kind.
47:55 Sometimes less is more, you know, I think part of the capitalistic model that we're, that we, that we're in right now is all about instantaneous results, right?
48:04 Everybody wants results, results, results, right?
48:06 And people are in a hurry to get stuff done.
48:09 And sometimes, you know, be gentle with yourself, you know, you've got an inner child that that's that's maybe scared, you've got an inner child that's maybe, you know, frightened.
48:19 So you've gotta walk with that inner child, you've gotta walk with that, that, that fear and be gentle and kind and loving, and, and yeah, just take it, take it slowly and.
48:31 You know, if people haven't got a guide or a coach or a mentor, you know, whether that's, you know, obviously we're in this amazing technological age where there's a huge amount of information out there on YouTube and all these other platforms and stuff.
48:44 But don't, don't try and do it all by yourself.
48:46 I mean, I, that's, that was the path that I went on.
48:48 I, I definitely was this kind of lone warrior archetype and, and did the whole kind of like, I can do all you know, very man, you know, masculine thing.
48:56 I can do all of this by myself, I don't need anybody.
48:59 And you know, you can do that if you want, but you know, we're better together, we are definitely better together, we need the support, we need the encouragement, we need the inspiration, and we need people who understand that healing is a, is a, is a process.
49:13 Maybe it never ends, actually, it's just a, you know, it's, it's an, it's an evolving story, it's, you know, it's the journey not the destination, right?
49:22 , but yeah, being, being gentle and, and keeping a, a wider perspective, so you're feeling your feelings, but you're not absorbed by it, right?
49:34 I think that's really, that's how I would approach it.
49:38 Yeah, I really appreciate all of that.
49:41 I'm gonna ask if you would be willing, I, I didn't even, I'm gonna throw you into the lion's den a little bit.
49:49 Would you be willing to just walk listeners through like a 3 to 5 minute meditation?
49:57 So, you know, we've been talking about like regulating nervous system and the world is crazy right now and coming back to your heart and, I think, I think everyone listening could use a little bit of what you have to, to share.
50:11 OK, just a couple of minutes, just a little exercise.
50:15 Yeah, thanks for thanks for being such a good sport.
50:17 No, absolute pleasure.
50:18 So if everybody feels OK to do so, let's let's just close our eyes.
50:22 You can have a little bit of light coming through, you don't have to completely close them, but just, just soften the gaze.
50:29 And let's just notice what that feels like, for starters, without any judgment, just notice.
50:39 And maybe bring the awareness down.
50:41 You can imagine.
50:43 It's like an elevator And we're in the top floor in the head right now in the penthouse.
50:50 And we're gonna take the elevator down through the center of the body.
50:55 So the elevator is moving down.
50:59 To the throat And maybe you can just take a breath in the throat.
51:04 Feel a sense of expansion happening in the throat.
51:10 And then the elevator moves down.
51:13 Into the heart.
51:15 Just take a couple of nice big breaths into the heart space, softening and opening into the heart center.
51:34 And then the elevator starts to descend down.
51:38 Further Down the spine.
51:42 Into the belly Solar plexus breathing into the belly.
51:48 Seeing how the belly swells.
51:51 Feeling the expansion and the contraction as you breathe.
51:59 Breath like waves.
52:03 Crashing on a beach.
52:05 Gentle rhythmic breath.
52:13 And then the elevator descending down.
52:16 Into the sitting bones.
52:18 Into the root chakra.
52:20 Feeling the weight of the body, compressing down onto the seat, the cushion, just feeling the heaviness of the body.
52:28 The physicality At rest.
52:35 Landing Landing back into the body.
52:40 Letting go of any holding there in that groin area in the hips, just seeing if you can just let that drop.
52:54 And the elevator descending down now down the legs to the knees.
53:02 Feeling into the sensations of the knees.
53:06 Breathing into the back of the knees.
53:17 And then descending down the elevator going down now.
53:22 To the soles of the feet.
53:25 Breathing into the feet.
53:28 Feeling all the sensations there, how alive the feet feel.
53:33 The pressure of the heels and the ball of each foot, the toes, the tips of the toes, compressing down.
53:46 And let's take the elevator down one more level.
53:50 To a foot or so beneath your feet.
53:55 You can imagine A point of light there.
54:03 A foot or so beneath your feet, a sparkling white light like a beautiful crystal.
54:12 And then allow that crystal to expand, get bigger.
54:17 And descend down, down, down.
54:22 Beneath layers of rock and soil.
54:27 All the way down into the core of the planet.
54:34 So way down beneath your feet there's a.
54:39 All of magma are brilliant crystal shimmering, sparkling, radiating energy.
54:48 And then whilst you hold that in your energy and your awareness, you bring your awareness back up to the crown of the head.
54:57 And you can just imagine like a circular.
55:03 Movement At the crown of the head like a hali halo.
55:11 And let that halo spiral up, up, up.
55:16 And see that A foot or two above your head there's another crystal brilliant white sparkling light.
55:28 And we let that Expand and expand and expand, so we are sandwiched between two incredible potent forces, the power of the earth energy beneath our feet.
55:44 And the universal energy, the divine energy.
55:48 Above our heads.
55:55 And then to close the meditation.
55:58 Just drop your awareness back into the heart.
56:03 This is where we live, this is where we are.
56:08 Most centered.
56:11 To breathe into the heart.
56:14 Open and expand on the in breath.
56:19 And also on the outbreath you can send it out.
56:23 Like that Note like that music like that orchestra.
56:30 Breathing in with love.
56:34 Breathing out with love.
56:40 Breathing in with love.
56:45 I'm breathing out with love.
56:50 And let's just take a final deep breath to close the practice.
56:58 And then gently, softly, starting to open the eyes, maybe take a look around the room, just coming fully back into the 3D, into the here and now.
57:11 Into this moment.
57:17 Oh, I don't know about anybody else, but that was great for me.
57:21 Oh my gosh, thank you so much.
57:23 That was so wonderful.
57:25 I needed that.
57:26 I'm sure someone, I'm sure a lot of people out there needed it.
57:30 I think I might actually try and put this episode out, maybe next week just because I think the world needs it right or the US needs it for sure right now.
57:38 , thank you so much.
57:42 Is there anything else we didn't touch on today?
57:44 We only have a few minutes left, I, that's fine.
57:48 I think we've, I think we've covered a lot.
57:51 There's a lot there for people to take away and to digest.
57:55 I would love people to check out my little film Visioning the new Earth.
57:59 It's, it's only 5 minutes or so long.
58:03 It's, you know, it's not scared to, to confront some of the challenges that we're that we're talking about in our lives and not about spiritual bypassing at all.
58:14 We need to confront, we need to be aware, we need to be awake to what is happening in the world, but can we, how do we, how are we going to change that?
58:23 Like we talked about earlier, you know, it starts with us, it starts with coming into the heart.
58:29 Broadcasting out an energy, a frequency of love, of compassion, forgiveness, acceptance.
58:36 So I'd love people to see that my film Visioning the new Earth.
58:40 please check me out on social media, Carl Braveman, Carlraveman.com is my website.
58:46 And, yeah, I'm just so grateful to have the opportunity to connect with you.
58:50 , and sending so, so, so much love to the United States right now, in these growing pains.
58:59 You guys are going through, a bit of a, you know, some growing pains right now.
59:06 and it's all, it's all for love.
59:07 It's all gonna, it's all gonna be OK, guys, it's all gonna be OK.
59:11 Just got to keep breathing, keep sending out that love and that light.
59:15 And visioning the new earth, what does that look like for us and how can we inhabit it now?
59:21 How can we live that now?
59:24 so yeah, just sending so much love and so much gratitude for your time today, Kris, and wishing you a blessed day.
59:32 Thank you so much, Carl, and I'll be sure to put all your links in the show notes.
59:36 So if you're driving and listening to this, or you can always come back to it and find all those links.
59:41 So don't do that meditation when you're driving, that's a little disclaimer there.
59:47 I don't want any lawsuits, OK?
59:49 , and yeah, thank you so much.
59:54 And I think, you froze a little bit on my end, hopefully I'm not talking over you, but I think what you said at the end there is, is so important about envisioning the earth that we want and not getting swept up in all the fear.
1:00:07 So thank you for that final note.
1:00:08 , if you're listening, please send this to someone you think might benefit from it.
1:00:13 Like, comment, share, subscribe.
1:00:15 Let's try to all raise the consciousness and move humanity into that beautiful new space.
1:00:22 So thank you so much.
1:00:24 see you all next time.
1:00:25 Have a beautiful rest of your day.
