I often get asked about Soul Contracts. A Soul Contract is an agreement that you have with another being, another soul before you both reincarnate into this lifetime. Sometimes this is with your soul family. Your soul family is a group of souls that you incarnate with often. In different lifetimes, you are in different relationships with members of your soul family - maybe you are someone's dog in one lifetime, then their mother is the next, then their sister, then a boyfriend, and so on. You just form this cluster and you travel through lifetimes together.
Have you ever met someone who just feels like home? That for some inexplicable reason you are just drawn to and you feel this intense connection with them? Chances are they are a member of your soul family.
Soul Contracts can also be with your so-called adversaries, the enemies that you have in this lifetime. The truth is, on the other side of the veil, these other souls are our great friends. And because they're our great friends, they've agreed to play the part of the villain in our lifetime. It's the villains who often catapult us into growth. They're key players in the dark nights of the soul that we go through and the friction that we feel with them gives us the opportunity to grow.
These people love us and care about us so much that they are willing to let us be angry at them in this lifetime. Once we both pass to the other side of the veil through death and take off these human masks that we’ve been wearing, they’ll give us a big hug and tell us how proud of us they are. And we get to tell them “You played an awesome villain! You're a great actor!” Because we're all actors right now - we are living in a play, a movie, a game, a simulation, a school… and we all have parts to play.
You are currently playing the lead actor in your own play of life. All the people who are weaving in and out of your life are your supporting actors and everyone else in the world are the background people - they’re like the “extras” that make the scenes more realistic.
We're always playing parts in each other's lives. You are probably contracted to play the villain in someone's life too. But this is a positive thing because from adversity and pain we learn so many life lessons. Every time we go through challenging times, we have a choice. We can choose growth, forgiveness, moving forward, expansion, and to become more awakened; or we can fall into a deeper illusion, become bitter, and become less conscious.
Forgiveness is the way that we step off of the wheel of karma. Otherwise, we keep reincarnating as a human over and over in a similar lifetime, in similar circumstances and situations, with similar types of people. And it’ll keep happening over again until you finally learn the lessons you’re meant to learn and respond in a new way. If we choose to heal ourselves, choose to forgive, choose to forget, and let go, then that's going to help take us off that wheel of karma and then we get to graduate into the next school of life.
Forgiveness is one of the most important lessons that you are here to learn. Once you learn to forgive, you get to let things go. When you hold on to all that anger and that sadness, and whatever you're holding onto, you're only hurting yourself and not the other person. It’s like trying to throw a hot coal at someone else with the intention of hurting them… in the end you are the one who gets burnt. All the negative emotions that you hold onto when you hold grudges stay stuck in your body and can turn into dis-ease. Forgiveness is the way to truly heal your mind, body, and spirit.
